The Beverley uranium mine is 520km north of Adelaide, deep in the heart of the South Australian desert. This is an area of low rainfall with sparse vegetation.

Discovered in 1969, the ore body of approximately 21,000 tonnes of uranium oxide has an average grade of 0.18% and stretches four kilometres by 500 metres.

Only just recently on Tuesday, 14 July 2009 decision to expand the mine equates to a six-fold increase in the size of the Beverley borefields - from 16 square km to more than 100 square km - radically expanding the Mining area.

Four Mile is one of the most exciting uranium discoveries in the world and this decision will allow this region of the State to continue to supply uranium for several decades to come.

This approval means that we are on track to have this mine fully operational by early 2010.
